Hola!

Today we have had a special assembly and an afternoon of learning languages in celebration of European Languages Day. Alongside their weekly French lessons, the children have learnt some basic Spanish. They may be able to tell you the phrase 'my name is' and wish you 'good day' or 'hello'. To reinforce learning and shamelessly because we love a good sing and dance in Team 1, we sang some songs in Spanish. The children really embraced language learning and it was a pleasure to watch them try.

In Maths this week, we have started to look at number bonds and specifically which numbers can be used to make the same amount. For instance, 4 and 2 make 6. 3 and 3 make 6, 5 and 1 make 6 etc. We will continue to practise this skill at school and it can be easily replicated at home by sharing amounts (of anything, fruit, sweets, toy cars etc.) onto 2 plates. Play around with the different ways that an amount can be shared. 

In English, we have finished our book 'Lost and Found' and next week, the children are excited to be writing their own version with a different animal. We look forward to reading them.
