It was so lovely to welcome the children back to school after the half term break. We hope you all managed to have a rest and enjoy some time together.
This week a very strange discovery was made in the playground! The children found some bones buried outdoors. The children became detectives to find out where these bones had come from. We discovered that these bones had come from a woolly mammoth. This has sparked the children’s interest and is leading to some great descriptive writing.
In maths, we have been subtracting by counting back on a number line. We have been learning to be very careful that we begin on the correct number and make the correct number of jumps back to subtract.
In RE we recapped our learning about Jewish artefacts. We also began to learn about the Christian Easter story and why Christians celebrate Easter.
We had a wonderful time for World Book Day. The children all looked amazing, and we loved hearing about their favourite books. Mr Lawrie even visited our class to read a story in a teacher swap.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Mrs Weeks, Mr Flaherty and Miss Thomas.
