Team 1 WB 30th Sept 24

Date: 3rd Oct 2024 @ 9:29pm

Hello!

Gosh! In the blink of an eye, we have completed another week in Team 1.

This week, Team 1 received a letter from the penguin in our story. The penguin asked us to make him a new coat as he had lost his on his travels. We used this request as an opportunity to explore different materials in our science lesson and we discovered which materials had the best properties to make a coat. Afterall, we want our penguin to be warm when he travels back to the South Pole!

In geography, we explored where people lived. We created a bar graph and found that most of our classmates live in Helsby. We then created a map of our journey to school and included the important features that we saw along the way. The grown ups in our class travel further and they each have a different journey, which they must do by car.

In English, we have been using Mighter Writer to retell the story of Lost and Found, We agreed on some actions to accompany each sentence and this helped us to remember the important parts. Our teacher promised to share a video on Twitter (X). We are going to start to write our own story and have each thought about which animal from the South Pole will feature in it and what the child's name will be. Why don't you ask us to tell you the story and see if we can remember any of the actions?

A big thank you from the grown ups in the class because changing at times PE has got speedier. Many children have told us that they have been practising at home, which is brilliant.

Have a wonderful weekend!
