Team 1 WB 2.5.23

We have loved our Coronation celebrations this week in Team 1. Watching Team 5’s maypole dancing was a highlight, and we enjoyed seeing all the work put into the children’s Coronation crowns.

This week in English we have begun using the prefix ‘un-‘ to change the meaning of a word. We have been introduced to a new class text, ‘Toys in Space’ by Mini Grey. We made predictions about how the toys might have ended up in space.

In maths, we have continued looking at the composition of numbers to 40, using dienes to support our understanding of ‘tens’ and ‘ones’.

In science, we have monitored the growth of our marigolds. So far we have seen little shoots beginning to grow out of the soil, and some small leaves, but no flowers yet. We’ll keep you posted on their progress.

In PE we practiced our accuracy in rolling a ball to a target. We played ‘hole golf’ using hoops on the grass to help us with our aiming. We worked out that the faster we roll a boll the farther it travels.

For our Mouse Mania we enjoyed bringing in a toy from home.
