Team 1 Wb 5.9.18

WOW! What a wonderful first 3 days we have had in Team 1. The children have been a joy to have in the classroom and we've had lots of fun starting to get to know them! They have settled in beautifully and have taken part in all the activities with lots of enthusiasm! 

We made a great start to our maths this week, by sorting objects in different ways. We started by sorting them by colour, and quickly moved on to finding lots of different ways to group the objects or pictures we were given. This included by size, shape, pattern and type of object. 

In English, we have been recapping our Ready Steady Read sounds and showing off our wonderful writing skills by writing about our summer holidays! 

We have also been learning our school rules this week and have been discussing why we have rules and how they are there to keep us safe and make sure we can learn. We talked about how we have rules at home as well as in school, and how the rules we have in the wider world that everyone has to follow are called laws. 

We have also learnt about democracy and the meaning of words such as election, party and vote. We discussed our school council and what they do. We will be learning more about this next week, when we will be having a vote of our own to choose our Team 1 school councillors. 

Well done Team 1- you have been fantasitc this week, Mrs Penny, Miss Evans and I are very excited for the year ahead!
