In our penultimate week before the Christmas break, we have been busy working on our Christmas books which we will bring home next week.
We have been creating artwork and using our DT skills in our Christmas books, and we are sure you will love them!
We have been writing some of a story for our books using our neatest handwriting, making sure we are forming our letters correctly and using all the phonics knowledge we have been learning.
In maths, we are continuing our unit on subtraction within 10 by learning how to subtract by using number bonds.
In French, we learnt about how people celebrate Christmas in France. We had a quiz to find out some facts about Christmas in France. We learned that in French, Father Christmas is known as Père Noël, and that children leave out shoes at Christmas time which Père Noël fills with sweets. To test this, we left some boots out in our classroom overnight, and as if by magic, they were filled with sweets in the morning. We enjoyed eating them during our Mouse Mania.
The highlight of our week was the wonderful nativity performance by the children on Tuesday. They sang beautifully and put everything into their actions, and we are very proud of them! Thank you all for coming to watch and share their enjoyment.
Have a wonderful weekend, and we will see you all on Monday for our last week before the Christmas break.
Mrs Weeks, Miss Thomas and Mr Flaherty.
