Team 1 WB 6th Jan
Date: 10th Jan 2025 @ 2:13pm
Welcome back to all our families, we hope you've had a wonderful Christmas and wish you all the very best for 2025.
It has been a very wintry week and thank you for all your support and patience as arrangements have had to be changed.
We have had a very positive week in Team 1.
In English, we have been practising our alphabets and working on letter formation. We have also started our new text' Grandpa's Gift'. The children have been writing about an object that is special to them using some fabulous adjectives. In addition to this, they have been learning when and how to use a question mark.
In maths, we are continuing to work on subtraction and have been exploring the different methods we can use to help us. These have included number lines, pictures and mental subtraction.
In history this week we have been talking about shopping. We have started our lessons by thinking about shopping today and how we can have food delivered and thinking about how many shops we need to visit to get our weekly supplies.
In DT, we have been thinking about hygiene with cooking. We know the importance of keeping our hands and surfaces free from germs.
In RE, we will be considering some different viewpoints as to how the world was created. Today, children learned about the creation story from a Christian perspective and retold the story with playdough.
Children will have brought their new reading books home this week. Reading at home significantly helps children's skills and we do appreciate all your support with this. Just a reminder, children need to have read a book 3 times (and have it recorded in their reading records) before we will change them.
If you haven't already done so, please ensure your child has their PE kit in school.
Many thanks for your support.
