Another week of learning has come to an end, and we have had so much fun!
In science this week, we tested some materials to see whether or not they are waterproof. Poor Mr F held each material over his head and we poured water over him to see if the water went through the material or not. We discovered that rubber, plastic and metal are waterproof (they didn’t let water through), but that wool is not waterproof (it did let water through). Don’t worry, Mr F dried off in the end!
In maths, we have been working on addition within 10 by counting on using a number line and writing corresponding addition equations.
In English, we finished our unit of work based on Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers by re-writing the story with a different animal.
In art, we learned about using different lines for drawings inspired by Linda Dawn Lang.
In our ‘health and wellbeing’ unit in PE we are learning about balance and agility. We practiced balancing on different body parts and played games where we had to balance on a different number of body parts eg. 3 parts (1 hand, 1 foot and 1 elbow).
We ended our week with a minute’s silence and watched the Cbeebies film to help us focus our minds. We talked about remembering people who have helped to keep us safe.
The children are ready for their weekend now, and we hope you all have a lovely couple of days off. See you all on Monday!
Mrs Weeks, Miss Thomas and Mr Flaherty.
