Team 3 - W/b 18.1.16
Date: 22nd Jan 2016 @ 9:38pm
This week in Team 3, we have been perfecting our inference skills in guided reading sessions and in SPaG, we have been changing verbs to their past tense.
During our English lessons, we have been focusing on performance poetry. Working in groups, the children performed 'The Sound Collector' by Roger McGough. Their performances were amazing. We have also been looking at personification and focused on the weather. The children produced some fantastic poetry with excellent descriptions of various types of weather.
In maths, addition and subtraction have been our focus this week. We have been using column addition, using our number knowledge to make estimations and have even applied our learning to an investigation.
During our afternoons, we have started to look at our topic 'Up high, down low'. We used atlases to investigate different continents and countries and then started to learn more about the UK.
Our music lesson was very successful for the second week running. I hope you are enjoying the children practising at home
I hope you have a fantastic weekend and I shall see you on Monday.
