Team 3 WB 31.1.22

Date: 3rd Feb 2022 @ 4:10pm

Another busy week of learning for Team 3!

In English, we continue to read the book 'Winter's Child' and are enjoying reading how the characters develop. In particular, we have focused on how Tom's emotions have started to change and the reasons behind this. We have looked at how to use similes within our writing and the effect that these can create. In maths we have been trying really hard to improve our multiplication knowledge and are becoming more confident counting in 3's. Using TT Rockstars at home can help us with this.

In science we learnt all about Mary Anning (who was dubbed 'the greatest fossil hunter of all time') and the contibution she made to science and our understanding of the world. We were given the opportunity to present our work however we wanted and some chose cartoon strips, whilst others chose a poster or a factfile. We also made our own 'fossils' using shells and salt dough to support our understanding of the process of fossil creation. In history and art we had great fun learning outside of the classroom and we created huge pictures of animals using chalk, and in the style of cave paintings (to link to our Stone Age topic). Please feel free to admire them on our playground! In RE we have been introduced to Judaism and have learnt about Abraham and his wife Sarah. We were all amazed when we discovered that Abraham had his son (Isaac) when he was 100 years old.

Have a restful weekend.
