What another busy week we have had in Team 4!

In our math’s work this week, we have been learning how to use the column method to subtract. We used practical apparatus to help us to understand the concept of renaming when subtracting a number that is bigger than the starting number. We then applied this learning to a range of fluency, reasoning and problem solving activities.

In English, we spent the week planning and then writing our very own stories based on our class text Gorilla by Anthony Browne. The children came up with some wonderful ideas replacing the gorilla character with cheetas, snakes and many other marvelous creatures!

In our spelling work this week, we have been learning how to use the ‘e’ sound spelt ‘ey’. We learnt a range of words with this spelling and used them in our writing. You can support this learning by practicing the following words at home:
