Team 4 Wb 20.1.25

Date: 25th Jan 2025 @ 4:47pm

What another busy week we have had in Team 4!

In our English learning this week, we continued reading our class book ‘Escape From Pompeii’. We discovered that the two main characters were called Tranio and Liv and that they had started to experience a number of tremors in the city. We practised using fronted adverbials to describe when the tremors happened and also created a descriptive piece of writing about the streets of Pompeii.

In spelling work this week, we explored a range of homophones such as knot/not and weather and weather and applied these homophones to a range of sentences.

In our math’s work this week, we started our new unit all about graphs. We explored how we can read data and then plot this data onto bar graphs and pictograms.

In our afternoon learning, we started reading our new whole class text about a girl who lived in Pompeii, in history we learnt why the Romans built roads and their legacy on modern day Britain and in French we continued exploring a range of everyday phrases and words. In our music lessons, we had our next violin lesson with Jay where we continued learning a range of chords/notes and we started playing along to some simple songs.

Reminders for next week:

Reading books and records will be checked and swapped on Monday. Please ensure your child brings them in and that they have logged five reads for the week just gone.

On Monday afternoon we have our next violin lesson. Children do not need to bring anything in as equipment will be provided.

Thursday is our next PE lesson. Please ensure your child comes to school in their PE kit on this day.

Mouse Mania this Friday with Mrs Caroe is chalk rubbings. The children do not need to bring anything in for this as chalk will be provided by school.

Have a wonderful weekend all!

Mr L and Mrs Caroe
