Team 4 Wb 2.12.24

Date: 7th Dec 2024 @ 8:08pm

What another busy week we have had in Team 4!

In our English learning this week, we pretended to be Odysseus and created our very own letters to his wife Penelope explaining all about his adventures after the Trojan War. We wrote about the different mythical beasts he encountered, how he was feeling and what he was looking forward to when returning home after 10 years of war!

In our spelling work this week, we focussed on spelling a range of common exception words. These are words that are not spelt how they sound. You can support this learning at home by practicing the following words:

  • Actual
  • Natural
  • Business
  • Early
  • Earth

In our math’s learning this week, we began exploring formal methods to multiply and divide. We began by looking at the relationship between multiplying and dividing and then we explored how we can use this knowledge to calculate larger calculations and then use the inverse to check an answer. We also completed our weekly times table challenge and continued learning our focus times tables.

In our afternoon learning, we completed our final swim of Team 4 in PE. In history, we learnt about Alexander the Great and how he expanded the empire without losing a single battle! In myhappymind we continued learning breathing techniques to help regulate the different parts of our brain and in music we continued learning our Christmas songs ready for our Christmas markets.

Just a couple of reminders for next week:

Please ensure reading records and books are brought in on Monday ready to be checked and swapped.

Please note that swimming has now finished in Team 4.

Mouse Mania on Friday is crafts in preparation for our Christmas Markets. Children do not need to bring anything in.

On Friday evening we have our school Christmas Fayre (see the newsletter for more details).

Have a lovely weekend all!
