What another busy week we have had in Team 4!
In our English lessons this week, we continued reading our class story and learnt that Hannah’s toy gorilla came to life! We practised using inverted commas to create a conversation between Hannah and the gorilla when they first met and after that we then wrote our very own diaries writing all about Hannah’s adventures so far in the story.
In spelling this week, we explored the prefix -im. You can help support this learning at home by practising the following words:
- immortal
- Immature
- Immobile
In our maths work this week, we started a new unit of learning focussing on addition and subtraction. We learnt how to add two four-digit numbers using the column method when renaming is required. You could reinforce this learning at home by giving your child two four-digit numbers to add together.
In our afternoon learning, we explored places that were North, South, East and West of Helsby in geography. In PE we went swimming, in French we learnt common classroom language/phrases and in science we went on an invertebrate hunt and managed to find a hedgehog hidden in the grass!
Just a couple of reminders for next week:
- Next week is parents evening. If you haven’t done so yet, please book an appointment.
- Reading books will be changed on Monday. Please ensure that your child brings their reading book in on this day and they also have logged five reads in their record for the week.
- Thursday is swimming as usual. Please ensure your child brings a coat, their swimming costumes and also a towel.
- Mouse Mania on Friday is Board Games. Children can bring a board game to play with their friends if they wish.
Have a lovely weekend all!
See you on Monday!
