What a busy first week back we have had in Team 4!
In our English learning this week, we started our brand new unit based upon ‘Greek Myths’. We began the unit by exploring a range of new vocabulary and using an online search engine to help us discover the meaning of these words. We then created our own descriptions of a Greek mythological beast.
In our spelling work this week, we revisited some of the spelling patterns we explored previously before the half term break. You can support this learning at home by practising the following words with your child:
Invisible
Dishonest
Impossible
Incorrect
Mountainous
In our math’s learning this week, we continued exploring our times tables and focused on the 9, 11 and 12 times tables. We explored patterns and relationships between times tables and then applied this learning to a range of word problems and everyday contexts.
In our afternoon lessons, we started learning our Christmas songs ready to perform at our Christmas markets later in the year. In French, we recapped classroom language and the names of different rooms in school and in DEAR time, we were very excited to explore the new books that arrived from the library.
In our topic this half term, we will be starting a new unit of learning all about Ancient Greece. Below is a link to the home learning document on our class page with suggestions about how you can support this learning at home.

Just a couple of reminders for next week:
- Please can reading records and books be brought in on Monday ready to be checked and swapped. Please can you also ensure that there are five entries in your child’s record for the week gone.
- We will be swimming as usual on Thursday. Please ensure that your child brings their swimming costume, towel, goggles (if needed) and coat.
- We also have the flu vaccinations on Thursday in school. Please ensure you have given consent if you would like your child to have the flu vaccine.
- Mouse Mania this coming Friday is dodgeball so your child does not need to bring anything in for it.
- Friday is also our Children In Need and Anti-Bullying Day. Please remember to send your child in ‘Dress Loud’ clothing and also bring in a £1 donation.
Have a wonderful weekend!
