Team 4 Wb 8.7.24

Date: 12th Jul 2024 @ 2:22pm

What another busy week we have had in Team 4!

In our English learning this week, the children have been busy planning then writing their very own non-chronological reports ready to go into their English books for next year to show Mr Kershaw their wonderful writing. The children have worked hard on these pieces of writing and I was very proud with the effort and dedication they showed when writing their work for their new teacher.

In maths, the children have continued exploring the bus stop method and also spent some time with Mrs Hulse revisiting their learning about time from earlier in the year. You could support this learning at home by asking your child to show you how to use the bus stop method to divide a three-digit number by a single-digit number.

In afternoon learning, the children finished sewing the pouches they created with Mrs Coman-Jones in DT and brought them home to show you. In DEAR Time, they continued reading their chosen books and in French the children were learning to understand grammar and the order of nouns and verbs in a sentence.

Just a couple of reminders for our final week in Team 4:

  1. Please could reading records and books be returned on Monday for a final check of the school year. Please note, all the reading books will be collected so a new book won’t be sent home. However, I would encourage the children to go to the local library and get a range of books to read over the summer 😊
  2. Over the weekend, please could you have a thorough look at home and return any school books or school library books on Monday. They will either have a colour on the front linked to the scheme we use (e.g. Emerald) or they will have an ‘ELS’ (Education Library Service) sticker on the spine.
  3. On Thursday we have our whole school water fight so there won’t be a PE lesson. As a result, children do not need to come to school in their PE kits on this day. Children are asked to come to school in their school uniforms as usual and bring spare clothes, towel etc in a carrier bag (see letter sent out from the office a couple of days ago for more info)
  4.  Mouse Mania on Friday is a film and sweets. The children are welcome to bring in sweets if they wish whilst they watch the film.
  5. Finally, on Friday, please could the children also bring in a carrier bag so that they can empty their trays with Mrs Hulse and bring home any last bits before they break up for the summer.

Many thanks and have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Mr L
