Team 5 wb 12.10.20
Date: 16th Oct 2020 @ 6:09pm
This week, Team 5 had an amazing Maths Day! We tried to answer the questions: How can we get to Mars?
We learned about the orbits of the planets and how, using Maths, we can predict where each planet will be in the future. We made scale models of the solar system and were fascinated by how far away some of them were!
We also found out that scientists have to aim their rockets at where Mars and other planets will be in the future in order to make sure the rockets land on the planet. We converted the distances between the sun and the planets from kim into m and cm. Finally, we made PowerPoint presentations and bar charts showing the different distances of the planets from the sun,
Mr Thomas is firmly of the opinion that there are several budding astronomers and rocket scientists among the class!
Have a wonderful weekend!
