Team 5: w/b 14.11.16

In Maths this week, Team 5 have been learning to identify prime and composite numbers; finding all the factors of a number to establish if it is prime or composite. Let's see if we can all memorise the prime numbers to 19!

In English, we have taken all our knowledge of playscripts and applied this to creating our own. Rehearsals for the play are well under way and I have been really impressed with Team 5's dedication and enthusiasm. We are all looking forward to coming together with the rest of Key Stage 2 next week for our first full run-through! 

Towards the end of the week, we began our new science topic: Properties of Materials. We considered what we already know about materials and what we would like to know. The children also got into groups and began planning an investigation titled ‘Which material is the most absorbent’?

In Guided Reading, we further deepened our understanding of how to interpret unfamiliar words in a context. Likewise, in Mathematics, the children continued to build on their reasoning and problem solving skills regarding addition and subtraction.
