Team 5: w/b 16.05.16

During this week in Team 5, we finished our hot tasks (our own fantasy portal story) and then began the process of evaluating, editing and redrafting. The children are really getting the hang of redrafting, with lots of care given towards improving their writing. We came to the end of our fantasy portal unit this week. Our next unit will be persuasive letter writing.

Mathematics learning this week was challenging! We focused upon recapping our knowledge around converting between different units of metric measure, a concept which the children found difficult to grasp. However, with perseverance and dedication all week, the majority of children had gained in confidence by the end of the week.

We had our Kwik Cricket competition this week at Frodsham Cricket Club, against a range of local primary schools. The behaviour and effort throughout the day was exemplary, the children truly were a credit to our school and I was very proud of them. They worked well in teams and applied all of their learning from Monday and Wednesday's cricket practise towards playing official matches.

Next week, don't forget to bring in your bike if taking part in bikeability (Tuesday until Thursday)!
