Team 5 WB 17.10.22

In Maths this week, we have moved on to a new topic, counting on to add. The children have enjoyed combining their prior learning of rounding with addition (using the column method). The children have been excited to work collaboratively and use manipulatives as a tool to aid their learning. 

In English, the children have been planning their first person diary entry, as if they were Annie Edison-Taylor (our main character in our book). We have been focusing on incorporating our 5 W’s; what, where, why, who, when and how. As well as this, we have been looking at building our vocabulary and using words such as jubilant, remarkable and notorious! Well done team 5, your ideas have been brilliant J

On Thursday, it was Hinduism day and the school came together to learn about the Rama and Sita story. In Team 5, we looked at creating our own celebration of light by creating rangoli images. The children concentrated on doing symmetrical patterns and used bright colours to symbolise the light. The children talked about their learning and presented their creations to the school in assembly.
