Team 5: w/b 18.04.16

Welcome back to the Summer Term!

This week in Team 5 we have hit the ground running with our learning, with some excellent progress being made!

During our English lessons, we began the imitation stage of our new fiction unit: fantasy portal stories. This unit seems to have really grabbed the children's interest and this week they enjoyed creating their own story settings, developing their redrafting skills and imitating our new story map for Alice in Wonderland (our focus text). We practised scaling and converting between fractions, decimals and percentages this week in maths. This seemed challenging at first however by the end of the week the majority of children were able to convert between with ease.

We began our new topic unit: Mayan Civilisation, and our new science unit: Forces. The children had a multitude of questions about both of these units, and we have much to learn!
