Team 5: w/b 22.02.16

This week in Team 5 we worked really hard on the 500 word writing competition from Weaver Words. The children were given the following stimulus from which to continue writing: An extraordinary sight greeted me as I walked into the room. It was impossible not to laugh... Myself and the other KS2 teachers felt like this was quite a challenging stimulus, and so we were all highly impressed with the children's enthusiasm and perseverence with the task. 

During Mathematics we considered factors, multiples and prime numbers. We also had a practical lesson on Wednesday, estimating volume and capacity as well as problem solving. 

The children also enjoyed sharing their Global Links homework. There was a range of PowerPoints and posters, and we are going to continue sharing these next week! 

Additionally, we had the NSPCC in to talk to the children on Thursday afternoon. The children were incredibly mature about all of the issues discussed and I felt like their groupwork and discussion was of a real benefit to them.
