Team 5 w/b 25.2.19

This week has been a Geography-filled week!  Mr Thomas introduced a beautiful book called, "Where My Wellies Take Me" by Michael Morpurgo, which is filled with poems about nature.  

Team 5 enjoyed our first experience of the orienteering course set up by Mr Oldfield.  We practised drawing maps in the woodland area and reading maps of the local area.  We compared maps at different scales and from different eras.

On Wednesday, Teams 5 and 6 went to Helsby Quarry for a field trip.  We investigated the sandstone strata and hunted for different kinds of flora and fauna.

Our trip inspired us to write some wonderful poetry on Thursday, and Friday saw us recrod the experience as diary entries.
