Team 5 WB 5.9.22

Welcome to Team 5!

The children have started their first week in their new class beautifully and it has been so lovely to start to get to know them. This week, we have all spent time getting to grips with the new routines, books and classroom.

The children have been introduced to the spotlight author, Katherine Rundell and explored some of her texts. All of the class have completed a reading assessment and they will be coming home with a reading book next week.

In geography this week, Team 5 shared what they could recall about their knowledge of the UK. As well as looking at the countries, seas and capital cities we also learned about positional language with a compass and played some games.

On Friday, the children had the opportunity to meet their buddies. We know that they were particularly excited about this and it was excellent to see how the older children behaved so responsibly and considerately.

The adults in Team 5 have been very proud of the class in this first week and would like to say a big well done for a fabulous start to the year. We look forward to seeing you all on Monday.
