Team 5 w/b 9.9.19
Date: 13th Sep 2019 @ 3:00pm
This week, Team 5 have been hard at work in our learning. We’ve been using dienes blocks, number counters and place value grids to understand how to read and write numbers up to hundred thousands!
In our topic/Geography lessons, we’ve been learning about different regions in the USA. We’ve generated descriptive language about different climates and landscapes, from dry, hot deserts to lush, green forests. We then chose a location and wrote a descriptive postcard from there. The next day, we practised our proofreading skills, looking for spelling and punctuation mistakes that we could correct. After that, we practised our editing skills by using different types of sentences like FANBOYS and I SAW A WABUB as well as using thesauri to improve our vocabulary.
To end the week, we enjoyed a visit from the life caravan where we learned about how to keep our bodies and minds healthy. We talked about how to be assertive and politely tell people, “No,” when we didn’t want to do something.
Have a wonderful weekend!
