Team 6 - 6.11.18
Date: 11th Nov 2018 @ 8:17am
Well, we’ve had a very busy week learning all about WW1 for the Centenary. So busy, that our Team 6 bloggers didn’t get chance to write the blog this week!!
We started the week off with a trip to Helsby library, with our Reception buddies. Lina, the librarian, spoke to us about the Centenary and then read us some stories (some of which had us doing the conga around the library!!!) before we shared some stories with our buddies.
Throughout the week, we have been finding out about WW1 and had many visitors including:
Alison from Norton Priory, The Hone Guard and a visit from a creative drama workshop. It has been fantastic and we have found out so much. We were able to compare what we found out to what we already had learned about WW2.
We also walked up to St Paul’s Church, to find the names on the War Memorial. We then found out what we could about these names back in class. It was very interesting.
In English, we looked at videos and images of what it would have been like in the trenches to create descriptive poetry to evoke emotion from the reader. They are all very moving.
I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. See you Monday,
Mrs Jobber
