Hi everyone, We are very sorry that we missed last weeks blog. We have been very busy!
Last week, we were doing art with Mrs Caroe. We made posters promoting propoganda during the world war. Propoganda posters were used to encourage people to use what they had lots of in their cooking. After we finished drawing our posters, we used water colours to create a backround. We used slogans such as ' keep calm and love your potato' & 'eat the spud and you'll be good'.
Last Thursday, we did the lindyhop in P.E with Jeni from the kitchen. She taught us some moves such as ' the get down, the scarecrow, the charleston & bugsy'. We had to get in partners and create a dance move [me and ruby created the Mary C.J Walker kick].
Now we will move on to what we have been doing this week!
This week, we have had a workshop with a lady called Emma. She taught us about WW2! We focused on the jobs that women took on during WW2 when the men left for work. She brought in some artefacts and some were even from the world war and she brought in a stand that would show us how they would milk a cow [ We even got to have a try ].
Yesterday was our last day of lindyhop with Jeni. We got in partners and she showed us how to do lifts. If you look on Horn's Mill's twitter page you will see some photos and videos. We really enjoyed ourselves :)
Today in our big cheese aasembly Mrs Jobber gave badges to school councillors. They were Alice,Charlie,Isaac,Poppy,Arthur,Mia,Benjy,EPL and me [evie].
Finally, we finished our class book 'Aveline Jones'. It has been so exciting and creepy! Lots of us wanted the next book to read.
Bye for now and have a great half term!
