In year six this week, we started a new class book called Letters from the lighthouse. It is set in World War Two and it’s a story about a young girl who solves a mystery with her brother about their missing sister. We've loved the start so far!!!
In science, we carried on our topic of reversible and irreversible changes. This week we learnt how to make plastic out of milk and vinegar. It was quite the experiment! We tried to make it and we will find out if it worked next week.
In English we have been creating scenes which include dialogue and we have also been looking at using speech sandwiches, punctuation and expanded noun phrases.
In Maths, we have been looking at multiplication using multiples of ten and multiplying two digit numbers by three digit numbers. We journal what we have learnt and then move onto our textbooks to answer questions. We found this quite tricky this week.
In PE this week, we learned how to Lindehop with Jeni. It was really fun! We talked about hoew this would have been a popular dance style around WW2 times.
On Tuesday, we had an amazing day! We went on a trip to the Cheshire Military Museum. We learnt about WW1 and looked at lots of artifacts and tried on some clothing. We learnt about nurses and soldiers who were local and from Cheshire and their role during the war.
It has been a very busy week so enjoy your weekend everyone.
