Hello everyone, hope you are having a great Friday. This week has been very funI
On Monday, we researched Ernest Shackleton’s crew in English. We chose a crew member from the expedition to find more about. For example: Name- Alexander Kerr Age- 21 Occupation- engineer. Also maths on Monday was interesting because we used our PV knowledge in decimals to add and subtract them.
On Tuesday in English, we wrote a job application for the person we were writing about in English on Monday. In maths we continued with our decimal learning. In Reading, we have been looking at some different novels. Our new spotlight author is Polly Ho-Yen and her books have been very popular in class.
On Wednesday, we had art. We were making origami boxes and putting drawings of fictional bugs in them. In maths, we learnt about ways to make 1kg out of decimals and worked on adding and subtracting decimals to make 1 (or from 1). It was tricky at first, but we got there in the end :)
On Thursday, we all go swimming and we must say our class are superb at it! Everyone has made lots of swimming progress - we only have 2 weeks left now.
Today we had Big Cheese Assembly and year 6s BC was Benji R! Well done! Today in English, we edited our application letters, working on different things like spelling, varied conjunctions and correct punctuation. In maths, we learnt how to multiply and divide decimals, which was quite interesting.
Thanks for reading our blog today! Hope you all have a fantastic weekend- Grace S and Ruby M.
