w/b 10.5.21 Team 5

This week, Team 5 have blown Mr Thomas away with their incredible writing.  They've been applying their grammar knowledge very carefully to write a variety of types of sentence.  The results have been amazing!  

In our Reading lessons, we've been introduced to our current spotlight author, Abi Elphinstone.  We've had lots of wonderful discussions about three of her books and the genre(s) they belong to. 

In Maths, we've continued with our work on fractions.  In Science, we've been learning about the solar system and all came up with mnemonics to remember the order of the planets. 

In Art and Music, we listened to Don Maclean's song Vincent and discussed Van Gogh's painting Starry Night.  Then we created our own versions using oil pastels.  The beautiful results are ready to be admired in a display in the classroom!
