Reception Wb 27.1.25

Hi everyone!

What a great week we've had in reception joining in with Chinese / Lunar New Year celebrations!.  We've tried noodles with chopsticks, spring rolls and fortue cookies,  performed a dragon dance complete with dragon masks and drum, tried our hand and chinese writing and lots lots more!  The children have loved it! Oh and making playdough dragons and snakes (year of the snake) has been a real hit too!

In literacy we have been getting even better with our independent writing skills, writing about our actions as we hop, jump and run fast through the crocodile creek!  In Maths, the 5 little aliens (in a flying saucer / die frame!) have been showing us how to represent 6 and 7 in different arrangements by moving seats on their flying saucer!  The children have also loved PE over the last couple of weeks where we have had gymnastic equipment out to show our 'high' and 'low' movement shapes and balancing.   The children were very brave jumping off the highest box.  Everyone managed this with lots showing resilience when they felt a little bit scared.  Great work Reception!! :)
