What a busy first week back in Team 4!

In our English learning, we have been recapping key skills learnt in Team 3 such as adverbs and how we can use them in our writing to impact the reader.

In our spelling lessons, we have been learning about the prefixes -un, -dis and -in and how these change the meaning of a root word. For example visible and when the prefix -in is added it become the opposite meaning invisible. If you would like to reinforce this learning at home, you can practise spelling the following words:

Invisible

Undo

Unhappy

Disappear

Incapable

In our math’s learning, we recapped our place value learning about three-digit numbers in Team 3 and used practical apparatus and equipment to ensure we were confident with these concepts before applying them to a range of word problems.

In our afternoon learning, we learnt how to use a classification grid in science to classify a range of vertebrate animals, how to draw shape outlines in art with Mrs Carroe and also completed our initial swimming assessments in swimming on Thursday.
