Reception - 16.04.18

Date: 20th Apr 2018 @ 2:45pm

This week in Reception we have been very busy. We have read the story Quick Quack Quentin. In the story the Duck looses his quack. We have helped the duck to find his quack and used our phonic knowledge to come up with other sounds the duck could make. When we came into school the next day, the labels out of the story had been taken! We wrote the animals names using our phonic knowledge and helped them get them back.

Later on in the week we had our hook for next literacy text. We found huge footprints in our classroom and it was very messy! We drew pictures of what we thought it might be and described them.

In maths this week we have focussed on addition. We have played lots of fun games to help us to record addition sentences.

We have learned a lot about our bodies this week and what we can do to keep ourselves healthy. The children had many fantastic suggestions on how we can stay healthy. We then drew pictures and wrote about what we can do. We also thought about how our heart rate changes before and after the daily mile.

We have had a lot of child initiated storytelling this week in class which is lovely to see. We have also had some fantastic stories written.

Have a fantastic ( and hopefully sunny) weekend!

Mrs Jobber and Miss Partington.
