Reception - Delamere!

Date: 18th Oct 2018 @ 7:41pm

Hi everyone,

This week we had our trip to Delamere Forest. We had such a lovely day out with our grown ups and all of our new friends. We made our way up to the forest on a coach and met our guides for the day John and Fran. In the morning some of us took part in stream dipping and some of us did some pond dipping. We all caught lots of creatures from fish to beetles and newts. We all had our dinner together before heading off for den building. All the children and teachers worked together to created lots of mini dens using sticks and branches, while the adults made a really big den! We created some forest art using pine cones, made some hammocks and went on a nature hunt around part of the forest. We all had a lovely day and it was nice to get to know all of our new families to Horn's Mill!! The children were all fanastic - such a pleasure to be around!

Back in school this week we have been carrying on with the story 'The Gingerbread Man' focusing on understanding the story and applying some phonics. In maths we have been using our comparision when working with the Numicon rods. We used the language bigger and smaller and used the rods to create different images.

Have a great weekend everyone,

Miss Steen
