Reception - Jack and the Beanstalk

Date: 28th Apr 2018 @ 9:11am

After recieving a visit last week from the Giant from the story Jack and the Beanstalk, we have started to learn our class story. We are doing a fantastic job of learning the words and the actions to this story. A lot of us have already started to write our own stories independently. This is amazing and we love sharing the stories the children have written either at home or in class.

We have focussed on subtraction this week in Maths and we have taken part in a lot of fun, practical activites. These include, subtraction smash and pin bowling. We really have had great fun! We are also getting very good at writing our own number sentences.

Each child has planted their very own plants this week. We recieved a letter from Billy the Bee asking us for help. He wanted us to plant some flowers for him and his friends. We talked a lot about how we look after plants first of all and we wrote and drew the things that a plant needs to grow and survive. We did this because we need to know how to look after our plants before we planted them. After we planted our flowers, we watered them and put them somewhere light so that they can grow. We can't wait to see how they come on!

Have a lovely weekend.
