Reception - WB 18.3.24

Date: 22nd Mar 2024 @ 5:13pm

Good evening everyone,

Thanks so much for your support regarding our visitors to school this week - us as a team had so many supportive messages, which were so appreciated!

We have continued to look after the chicks in class this week. Our job was to make sure that their beds were clean, they had fresh water and that they were being fed twice a day. We got to hold them each day and watch them grow bigger and bigger - some were even trying to fly! The children have become very fond of them and it has been lovely to see the children be so caring towards them. Our 10 chicks have now gone back to the farm.

During curriculum time this week, we have been focusing our learning on the season spring. We've been learning about the different features of spring and all the new life that we start to see around us, including flowers and baby animals. We went on a spring nature walk around school and enjoyed completing lots of spring challenges around the classroom.

In maths we have been learning about the number 7. We have learnt to recognise different ways that we can make the number 7 and how we can combine 2 numbers together e.g. 7 is made of 6 and 1, 4 and 3, 5 and 2.

Have a great weekend everyone,

Mrs D
