Team 1 - Science week, recounts and our special reading activities!!

Date: 19th Jun 2016 @ 7:17pm

Good Evening!

I'm blogging here for the last two weeks which has been extremly busy for Team 1!

We returned to school last week to Science Week, where we completed so many activities! We learnt all about different materials, what things are made out of them and completed our own special challenge to see which materials would be best to make our own chicken houses after hearing all about Miss Morris's chickens. We also watched our own WOW science workshop, planted our own sunflowers and wrote some instructions on how to make our chicken houses. Lots of learning took place and we all had lots of fun!!

During this week we also had the Queen's Birthday Lunch where children made their own hats and had a lovely picnic on the field. There were some amazingly, creative hats which Miss Steen and Mrs Lewis were so impressed with!!! On the same day we also had Sport's Day after school. Everybody took part and tried their best in their races. What great team players we have in Team 1!!

On to this week and we have been back to work!

In English we have continued with our work on recounts and have begun to innovate different parts of our class recounts. Next week we are going to write them!

In maths we have covered lots of different areas this week including shape, adding and subtracting and time.

And last but not least!  All children have completed a very special reading activity this week which we have been working up to for the past 2 months. All children did really well and me and Mrs Lewis were extremley proud of everybody for trying so hard!!  Thank you to parents for their support at home with their child's reading.

See you tomorrow,

Miss Steen smiley
