This week in Team 1, we have been learning about ‘one more’ and ‘one less’ in maths with numbers up to 10. We have been finding missing numbers on a number line, and using counters to represent objects.
In English, we have been writing simple instructions using our phonics knowledge. On Thursday and Friday, we had to try and describe some puppies and think of names for them. All because Mrs Weeks is getting a new puppy, and she needed our help!
In music this week, we began looking at the pulse/beat of music. We used a beat of four to repeat actions using body percussion such as tapping, clapping and stomping. We were very good at ‘reading’ the music, and even made up our own beats.
We really got to grips with using our independent learning journals this week when we have ‘learning time’. The children have been recording their learning in their own unique ways to great effect. It is lovely to see how proud they are becoming of their own journals and how much they enjoy putting work into them.
For Mouse Mania on Friday we had a treasure hunt round the woodlands. There was a lot of treasure (but we ate it all up)!
