Happy weekend, Team 1!

This week we finished reading our class text, ‘Goldilocks and Just The One Bear’. We enjoyed discovering the similarities and differences between this book and the original Goldilocks story, and began planning and writing an innovated version of the story. The children came up with some fabulous ideas, what great imaginations!

In maths we have continued our unit on multiplication and division by learning about arrays, columns and rows. We are discovering that representing numbers of objects using arrays helps us to count the total, and our maths detectives spotted that counting in 2s, 5s and 10s can really help. We have also be doubling numbers, and making equal groups.

We have also been learning about types of animals (mammals, birds, fish, amphibians and reptiles). The children had some great questions which we discussed and investigated, such as ‘why is a penguin a bird if it can’t fly?’

The week ended with a bubble party on the field, and celebrated the great learning the children have achieved this week.

Have a super weekend to all of our Team 1 families!
