Happy New Year!

It has been wonderful welcoming the children back to school this week. We are absolutely certain that lots of them have grown over the Christmas break!

We began our week by writing some of our happy memories of 2022: Lots of the children remember their nativity and the Diwali colour run as their favourite events last year. We wrote about something we would like to do less of this year, like eating chocolate or arguing with brothers and sisters. We wrote the names of 2 friends we would like to play with more this year, and 2 wishes for 2022.

In English, we have been role-playing the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, ready to begin a new class text next week. I wonder what it could be…

In maths, we have been recalling our knowledge of addition within 10 with lots of practical games and activities.

This term sees the introduction of some more formal learning, but there will still be some time in our timetable for ‘learning time’ when the children can explore and learn independently.

We will be continuing to change reading books on a Tuesday and Friday, so please ensure children have their books and reading records on these days. PE remains on a Tuesday.

Have a lovely weekend, and we look forward to our first full week from Monday.
