What a brilliant start Team 1 have made to the new term!

It has been lovely to have the children back this week, happy and rested after their Christmas break! We have launched ourselves into the new term with lots of enthusiasm and have had a very busy, enjoyable week!

In English, we have been thinking of new ideas for stories Nibbles can eat his way into and have been planning these into our recount text map ready for our writing next week. In maths, we have been working on our understanding of place value to 20, learning how to make numbers with base 10 equipment, and use the language of tens and ones when we are talking about number.

In science, we have started off the term talking about seasonal changes, focusing on winter. We have learnt about different seasonal changes as well as the ways in which different animals prepare for winter. In PE, we started our new topic by discussing toys and how they have changed from those in the past. We used a story of a toymaker and created movements to go with the music. We have been discussing features of the church in RE and we used the story of Elmer to discuss and celebrate difference in our No Outsiders lesson this week too!

We loved having toys from home as our Mouse Mania this week, next week we are going to play musical statues!

Well done Team 1, for a fantastic week this week!

See you all on Monday!

Mrs Holbrook :)
