Team 3: 12.10.18

Date: 12th Oct 2018 @ 5:23pm

This week in Team 3 we have gone fossil mad! On Tuesday, we learned all about the work of famous fossil hunter Mary Anning and found out how mould and cast fossils are formed. Then on Wednesday, we looked at a range of real fossils including a bison bone, a claw shark tooth and an ammonite from 180 million years ago! We looked at lots of photographs of fossils and matched up the animals that they belonged to using our paleontogy skills and today we have written brilliant leaflet to share all our knowledge.

We also had lots of fun on Monday learning about the advances of the Bronze Age and created adverts as if we were living in the early Bronze Age and trying to entice people still living in the Neolithic to start using bronze- some of our videos are up on Twitter if you want to take a look!

We have been continuing our work on 'Seal Surfer' by Michael Foreman this week and focusing on our use of prepositions. We have practised using them in descriptions, non-chronological reports and even What Am I? poems which we really enjoyed writing on Thursday.

In Maths, we have been continuing our work on place value and have been practising adding and subtracting 1,10 and 100 from 3-digit numbers.

Have a lovely weekend!

Miss Delaney
