Team 3: 22.3.19

Date: 24th Mar 2019 @ 10:54am

This week we have continued our work on 'Escape from Pompeii' by Christina Balit and embedding our skills using conjunctions, prepositions and adverbs to add detail to writing as well as using our spelling mats to edit our own work. In Maths, we have begun our work on money; recognising, comparing and adding coins as well as converting between pounds and pence.

In Science, we were learning about how mirrors work and used our knowledge to send secet messages taht our partners ahd to use mirrors to decode. We then headed outside and attempted to walk along wiggly lines on the floor by only looking in a mirror above our heads- it was very tricky! It showed us that what we see in a mirror is a reverse image. We also learned more about Ancient Egypt and foung out the reasons why they lived as they did. Did you know that they only had 3 seasons? Four months in which the River Nile flooded, four months for planting crops and four months for growing and harvesting before the flood came again.

Coming up next week, we have so many things to look forward to! Horn's Mill's Got Talent auditions are taking place on Monday afternoon, we're on our trip to the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester on Tuesday and then the final of Horn's Mill's Got Talent on Wednesday! For those few remaining, please make sure all your permission slips for our trip are in on Monday.
