Team 3: 31.1.20

Date: 2nd Feb 2020 @ 1:07pm

We started our week with a great 'No Outsiders' lesson this week. We learned about how we are all different and that we should celebrate our differences. We read the book 'The Hueys in the New Jumper' as a stimulus to discuss why the world just wouldn't be as good if we were all the same!

In history this week we learned all about Stonehenge and how archaelogists believe it was built. We came up with our own theories about what is could have been used for which were very impressive and very well reasoned! Some of us believed that it could be a religious site as it must have been very important if it was so hard to build, some people thought it might be for trading and there were loads of other brilliant ideas too like stadiums, courts and shelters.

In English we have been focussing on our grammar and editing skills by identifying what makes a main clause and how we separate these in our work or join them using conjunctions. This week we focussed on co-ordinating conjunctions and next week we will move on to complex conjunctions.

In maths we have been learning the compact column method for multiplying 2 digit numbers by 1 digit.

Hope you're having a lovely weekend!
