Team 4 - W/b - 1.7.19

Date: 6th Jul 2019 @ 10:48am

Another week has whizzed by in the Team 4 classroom!

In English, the children have been finding out key information and technical vocabulary about caves. We made a cave in the classroom, found out about stalactites and stalagmites and found out about how caves are formed. On Wednesday, the children were asked to put themselves into the role of a cave expert and they have been asked to plan and write a letter to an interested visitor.

In maths, the class have been completed their learning about coordinates and translation and are now looking at reading graphs and charts. So far, the children have demonstrated a good understanding of this learning and we will be continuing this next week.

There has been plenty going on with other elements of the curriculum too. In RE, the children have been learning about the 5 K's in Sikhism and in music the children have been completing a study on the composer Smetana. In PE, we are practising our athletic skills and focused on techniques for hurdling and running a relay and we have also created brochures about Helsby. We have enjoyed our assemblies this week. The first was from the library, who introduced the Summer reading challenge and the second was the Reception open assembly.

We hope you have a fantastic weekend and we will see you on Monday.

Mrs Hughes and Miss Foster.
