Team 4 - W/b - 20.04.18.

What a wonderful week, loads of sunshine and fewer showers.  This always helps to lift the mood of Team 4 who were fairly convinced that summer had arrived.  In a way it had, both indoors and out.  'Indoors?' you might question.  Well indeed, not only is the sun shining on us through our sparkly new windows, but also, the beams also highlight our wonderful new floor.  The children are just so thrilled.

Team 4, notorious for being great learners, have been mastering many new skills in the last week.  Guided Reading has been such fun.  Currently we are reading 'Varjak Paw' by Dave McKean.  The children have understood that the genre is about journeys and that, from very limited information, that Varjak Paw (a cat), is likely to travel from his home with the Contessa.  Inference skills are definitely on the up!  We won't tell you anymore as we don't want to give the game away.  However, if you would like to pop down to the local library and share it together with your child you are bound to enjoy.

In mathematics, we are learning more about fractions.  There are so many different ways of calculating with fractions including addition and subtraction, understanding improper fractions, finding equivalent fractions etc.  This can be quite hard, so if you have time, your child would love to explain how much they have learned so far and if they have any gaps in their knowledge, perhaps you can help them learn some more.

So, until next week, take care, Team 4
