Team 4 have been working hard again this week.

In our writing, we have been writing letters as Katherine Johnson where we have been trying to inspire future generations to fight against any barriers that they might come across to reach their goal.

In reading this week, we have been learning about the features of non-fiction texts and we have learnt about some very notable women along the way. We have also completed our class text – The One And Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate. Mrs Hughes was thrilled when the author responded to her Tweet to say that the class had really enjoyed the book.

In maths, we have been comparing and ordering 4-digit numbers as well as practising our times tables and on Thursday, it was World Maths Day! Mr Lawrie taught us that you need plenty of mathematical skills to be able to launch a rocket. The children created some formulas including the angle, the fuel and the number of pumps that the rocket would need to reach our target. We then tested these out on the field which was great fun.
