Team 4 Wb 17.5.21

Date: 21st May 2021 @ 4:57pm

Team 4 have continued to explore division in our maths lessons and we have been learning how to divide using known facts, partitioning and formal written method.

In reading, we have been focusing on notable people, and have read non-fiction texts to learn more about Dr Barnardo, Georgia O'Keefe and Muhammad Ali. As well as retrieval skills, we have also used these texts to develop inference skills.

In English, we have been exploring how adverbs can be used to improve our writing. The children tried to apply this learning when they completed a diary entry on Friday from the point of view of a Roman boy.

This week, we also had the opportunity to develop some cricket skills as we had an expert in school. We learnt about throwing and fielding in our first session and will be looking at batting next week.

As part of our assembly, we explored Eid. It was fantastic to have our own Team 4 expert in class and they were very happy to share their own experiences of this celebration.

In topic, we talked about the meaning of food miles and explored the distance travelled of some common (and some less common) fruits from the local supermarket. We then had a delicious tasting session in which the children got to see which ones tickled their tastebuds!

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
