What another busy week we have had in Team 4!

In our English learning this week, we learnt about a range of different poems such as acrostic poems, rhyming couplet poems and also setset poems. Once we had learnt about the poems, we then wrote our own in preparation for our Christmas books. The children produced some wonderful ideas and I am sure you will be as delighted when you get to read them when the children bring their Christmas books home.

In our math’s learning this week, we have continued learning how to multiply and divide. We focussed this week on the skill of dividing and learnt that we can use our knowledge and understanding of multiplication facts to support us when calculating division questions. We learnt how to divide by 7, 9, 11 and 12 and practised using practical apparatus before moving on to mental methods.

In our afternoon learning, we read our No Outsider’s story The Way Back Home by Oliver Jeffers and discussed how we can overcome language as a barrier. We also continued practising our Christmas songs ready for our Christmas Markets and in topic we learnt who the Ancient Greeks were and some key events in their timeline and formation. We then explored some ways that they have influenced the Western World. In PE we went swimming and we also continued reading our class text the Nowhere Emporium.

Have a wonderful weekend Team 4!
