What another busy week we have had in Team 4!

In our English learning this week, we have been very busy creating three different poems to go in our Christmas books that will be going home next week. The children have created some wonderful poems full of descriptive language and are very excited to show them to you next week!

In our spelling work this week, we have been continuing to explore words from the Year 3 and 4 common exception word list. You can support this spelling learning at home by teaching your child how to spell the following five words:

Extreme

Heart

Strange

Fruit

Through

In our math’s learning this week, we have been finishing our learning about addition and subtraction. We have consolidated our learning about using the column method to add and subtract two four-digit numbers with multiple carrying over and exchanges. We have applied this learning to multi-step word problems and missing number problems and also answered reasoning questions.

In our afternoon learning, we practised singing our carols in preparation for Wednesday’s performance after school, we created our market stall items to be sold and in art we put the finishing touches to our Christmas books with Mrs Carroe.  It was also the final swimming session of our swimming block this week and although the children are disappointed that it has finished now, they are very excited that next Thursday we have our Christmas panto and Christmas book walk around the school to replace it.

I wanted to thank you all personally as well for coming to our Christmas market. The children had a wonderful time and loved having you all come and see what they had made ?

Have a great weekend Team 4!

Mr Lawrie
